One of modern metalcore's most innovative bands has officially entered a new era.
Swedish heavyweights Imminence have announced their signing to Sumerian Records and marked the occasion with the release of a brand-new single, “The Sword That Never Bends.” The track serves as the band's first release under their new label home and continues the evolution of a sound that has made them one of the most distinctive acts in heavy music today.
For years, Imminence has carved out a lane all their own, blending crushing metalcore, cinematic orchestration, and frontman Eddie Berg's signature violin work into something instantly recognizable. Rather than chasing trends, the band has steadily built a devoted global following by embracing ambition and pushing the boundaries of what modern heavy music can sound like.
“The Sword That Never Bends” feels like a natural continuation of that mission.
The song opens with an atmosphere of tension before exploding into towering riffs, thunderous drums, and soaring vocal melodies. As expected, Berg's violin once again plays a central role, weaving through the track and adding an emotional depth that few bands can replicate. The result is a song that feels equally suited for massive festival stages and intimate moments of reflection.
Lyrically, the track explores themes of resilience, perseverance, and remaining steadfast in the face of adversity. Those themes are mirrored in the song's dynamic structure, which balances moments of vulnerability with overwhelming power.
The signing to Sumerian Records represents another major milestone for a band that has spent the last several years ascending through the ranks of the international metal scene. With acclaimed releases, sold-out tours, and a reputation as one of the genre's most captivating live acts, Imminence has become one of the most exciting success stories in modern metalcore.
