FIELD MEDIC DROPS NEW SINGLE “SIMPLY OBSESSED” AHEAD OF UPCOMING ALBUM

Field Medic has shared a brand new single and video, “Simply Obsessed,” and it's exactly what fans have come to love from the lo-fi folk-pop troubadour—vulnerable, charming, and completely unfiltered. The track arrives just days before the release of his upcoming album, Surrender Instead, due out this Friday.
“Simply Obsessed” is an ode to that all-consuming kind of affection, the kind that feels more like a slow spiral than a love story. With his signature mix of acoustic minimalism, homespun beats, and diary-entry lyricism, Field Medic (aka Kevin Patrick Sullivan) once again manages to find beauty in the breakdown. The track is simple but deeply affecting, with lines that hit like late-night texts you never send.
The accompanying video mirrors the song’s tone—low-key, endearing, and DIY in all the right ways. Directed with a soft focus and a big heart, it captures the kind of emotional messiness Field Medic has always made feel not just relatable, but necessary.
Simply Obsessed follows a string of deeply personal releases that have carved out Field Medic’s space in the indie-folk underground. With Surrender Instead, he’s set to expand that world even further, promising more heartbreak, more healing, and more brutally honest reflections on what it means to keep showing up, even when everything feels like too much.
