HOLDEN GIVES US NEW SINGLE, “HAPPIER WITHOUT ME”

Holden, a producing duo of identical twins Joe & Alex Holden, gives us a song about the need to “win” a breakup. Their new single, “Happier Without Me”, is about the feeling of seeing your ex-partner move on before you, and the selfish tendencies and fears of not wanting to know about it.

The duo shares with us: "An amicable end just might be our test: in a breakup, sure, you might say you'll stay friends, but you want to win the breakup, and you're scared of seeing your ex be the first to move on"

A simple, raw, and HEARTBREAKING human truth that is painfully relatable to most of us - - Not wanting to know if leaving someone’s life positively impacted them.

“I’m scared you got happy without me

Happier than ever

Ready to move on but not ready to forget her.”

This song starts by throwing us in a synth heaven, and I could not have predicted where this song went (in the best way). Layers of unique harmonies mirror the equally unique lead vocals. This song hits that sweet spot of being emotional and direct with its meaning, yet so sonically FUN simultaneously. It feels like they kept the listener’s experience in mind while making this one, because despite the profoundly emotional and honest lyrical content, it will genuinely have you happy-dancing around your room in your headphones.

Maybe …now we can be a little happy, too?

Having toured the globe with Bombay Bicycle Club, Tom Misch, Hot Milk and more, the duo has coined a wildly unique sound in their project “Holden”. For fans of Glass Animals, and Portugal The Man!
