On May 1, 2025, punk rock legends Green Day—comprising Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool—were honored with the 2,810th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony took place at 6212 Hollywood Boulevard, fittingly located near Amoeba Music, a landmark for music enthusiasts.

Actor Ryan Reynolds delivered a heartfelt tribute, praising the band's enduring legacy and integrity while also adding a touch of humor to the proceedings. Although tennis icon Serena Williams was scheduled to speak, she was unable to attend; longtime Green Day producer Rob Cavallo stepped in, sharing anecdotes about the band's early days in Berkeley.

The event was emceed by veteran radio and television personality Matt Pinfield, marking a significant moment in his recovery journey following a severe stroke earlier this year.

Adding an unexpected twist, rapper Flavor Flav made a surprise appearance, attempting to speak at the podium. This marked his second impromptu collaboration with the band in recent weeks, following a playful interruption during their Coachella 2025 set.

Reflecting on the honor, Armstrong dedicated the moment to his mother, stating, "This is for my mom. This is like my mom's Super Bowl right now!" Dirnt echoed the sentiment, thanking his mother for her unwavering support.

Green Day's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame serves as a testament to their significant impact on the music industry and their enduring connection with fans worldwide.
