God’s Hate are fucking back.

After wrapping a year-long hiatus with a surprise set at Sound and Fury over the weekend, the Los Angeles hardcore heavyweights wasted no time giving fans something else to lose it over. Today, God’s Hate dropped a new three-song EP, Won’t Be Disgraced, through Closed Casket Activities. It’s the band’s first new material since their self-titled album came out in 2021.

The EP is brief, pissed off, and stupidly heavy. Across three tracks, God’s Hate do what they do best: metallic hardcore built on huge riffs, Brody King’s instantly recognizable vocals, and breakdowns that feel like they were written specifically to make a room go sideways.

Won’t Be Disgraced opens with the title track, rolls straight into “I Am The Cure,” and closes with a cover of Harm’s Way’s “Warriors Will Reign.” That last one hits harder than a standard hardcore cover. It serves as a tribute to late Harm’s Way guitarist and HardLore co-host Bo Lueders.

God’s Hate brought plenty of friends in for it, too. Their take on “Warriors Will Reign” features members of Harm’s Way, along with guest vocals from Karl Buechner of Earth Crisis, Ray Cappo of Youth Of Today and Shelter, and Mark Porter of Floorpunch. The song ends with audio of Lueders talking about how he hoped to be remembered, turning an already crushing track into something much more personal.

That sense of grief runs through the whole EP. God’s Hate has described Won’t Be Disgraced as a release shaped by loss, hardcore’s current landscape, and the world around it. Under all the anger and weight, the message is pretty direct: when things get dark, giving up isn’t the answer, and sometimes the people around you are the reason you keep going. The EP is dedicated to Lueders.

And if three new songs weren’t enough, God’s Hate are celebrating the release the only way they know how: with a surprise show tonight. The band will take over The Midnight Hour in San Fernando for an impromptu Won’t Be Disgraced record release show alongside Twitching Tongues, Internal Affairs, Piece By Piece, Human Garbage, Start Today, and Firestarter. The show is officially sold out, so if you don’t already have a ticket, don’t show up hoping to squeeze your way in. Respect the venue, respect the space, and respect the people putting this thing on. For everyone lucky enough to get through the door, God’s Hate hit the stage at 9:40 PM.

Five years is a long damn time to wait for new God’s Hate music, but apparently the band is making up for lost time. A surprise return at Sound and Fury, a brand-new EP, and now an impromptu record release show all within a matter of days? Yeah, God’s Hate are fucking back.
