GAG SALON DROP WILDLY CATCHY POST-PUNK BANGER “BACKING TRACK”

The fellas in Gag Salon have dropped one of the quirkiest, most irresistibly off-kilter rock tracks of the year with their new single “Backing Track.” This British four-piece blends razor-sharp post-punk energy with absurdly catchy pop instincts, landing somewhere between art school chaos and pure melodic brilliance. The rhythm section is funky as hell—groovy basslines and jittery hi-hats drive the track forward like it’s got somewhere weird and wonderful to be, while the guitars add just the right amount of crunch to cut through a swirling wall of synths and keys.

It’s a glorious mess of melody and rhythm, constantly teetering on the edge of collapse but somehow holding together with masterful precision. And then there’s frontman Joseph Mumford, whose wildly charismatic, slightly unhinged vocal performance doesn’t just steal the show—it is the show. His delivery ties everything together in a way that’s theatrical, unpredictable, and totally addictive. “Backing Track” is a chaotic banger—like a cake with too much icing, and somehow that’s exactly what makes it so good. Gag Salon: get after ‘em!
