DRAUMR’S “SOMEWHERE STELLAR” PAINTS AN IMPRESSIONISTIC SONIC PICTURE WITHOUT WORDS

“Somewhere Stellar” by Draumr is a lot of different music rolled into one composed of dream pop, lo-fi, chillwave, and even a bit of funky R&B undertones. The single is atmospheric, and some elements make it cinematic. It is an instrumental track. Does the accompanying video shed light on what the song is about? Not exactly, but it could just be open to the listener’s interpretation. Draumr may or may not be in the video with a stylish woman, girlfriend, or friend, going for a ride on the highway along with scenic shots of the beach. Maybe Draumr is also shown roaming around and climbing on rocks at the beach. From what one can tell, this enjoyable single is mood and vibe music best played in the background while relaxing and kicking back. Gabriel Cheurfa, aka Draumr, is a solo project for this talented and diverse artist. The Parisian-born Cheurfa is known for working in music, film, and visual storytelling. This single is likable, listenable, and arranged well. “Something Stellar” doesn’t break new ground but creates something enjoyable. It’s a quality track of music. A song one may want to repeatedly play based on their particular mood or vibe as strikes them at any given time.
