CITIZEN ANNOUNCE NEW LP HALCYON BLUES, SHARE “HIGHS AND LOWS,” AND PLOT WORLD TOUR WITH ANXIOUS, HOTLINE TNT & MORE

Citizen has officially announced a new LP, Halcyon Blues, alongside a fall tour, and they’re not easing into it. It’s the follow-up to 2023’s Calling the Dogs and is due out August 7 via Run for Cover. The band also dropped a new single, “Highs and Lows,” as the first look at what’s next, continuing their evolution from scrappy emo roots into something bigger, moodier, and more expansive.

Over the years, Citizen has carved out a lane between alt-rock, shoegaze, and post-hardcore without ever feeling boxed in. From the raw punch of Youth to the more textured direction of their later releases, they’ve grown steadily without losing the emotional weight that pulled people in from the start.

The new LP looks to push that even further. “Highs and Lows” leans into atmosphere and space while keeping that familiar tension underneath. It doesn’t hit all at once; it lingers.

To support the release, Citizen will head out on a full tour with Anxious and Hotline TNT, plus additional support on select dates. It’s a lineup that actually makes sense. Anxious brings urgency and melody, while Hotline TNT adds that blown-out, fuzz-heavy edge that fits right into Citizen’s world.

The run will hit major cities across North America this fall, with venues sized perfectly for the kind of immersive, emotionally charged shows this material calls for. Loud enough to feel it, not so big that it loses its impact.

Pre-orders for Halcyon Blues are live now. The world tour begins this August, and fans can sign up for their city via the link in bio to get early access to tickets tomorrow.
