CIGARETTES AFTER SEX ENCHANT US WITH ALLURING SONG “TWIZZLER”

Some say that songs by Cigarettes After Sex feel like a warm embrace, and I would have to agree. Especially after hearing their new single, “Twizzler,” a sultry song that truly showcases the band's seductive nature.

The buzzing bass from Randall Miller sizzles effortlessly through your soul. Its heaviness is layered with a steady drum fill that Jacob Tomsky carries throughout. With a heavy atmosphere already set, the iconic vocals of Greg Gonzalez whisper through the track, taking you on a journey that is new yet familiar for the band.

“I love the way you made me feel, and I don’t care why,” he breathes onto the mic.

It has a slick, spunky attitude, refusing to back down for even a second as it wraps you up in a story of unapologetic affection. The atmosphere feels like slow dancing while a thunderstorm rages outside, with a partner close by.

As each word is delivered smoothly from Gonzalez’s lips, you get shivers down your spine. When the familiar bright tones of his guitar hit you subtly, you’re reminded who the hell Cigarettes After Sex are.

It’s an intimate song that is incredibly suggestive, marking a growth for the band in an edgier direction. Compared to their slower, lighter tracks of the past, “Twizzler” shows the group has adopted a more mature sound this year. We can’t wait to see what’s next for the trio, especially after the release of such a heavy-hitting song.
