CAREER BOY DROP INFORMATIVE SURF ROCK ANTHEM FOR 2021

Career Boy is a remarkable punk/surf rock band from New York City. Not only is their new single “Scam Jam” a catchy as hell toe-tapper of the highest order, but it’s also a literal step-by-step guide on how to apply for unemployment benefits and health insurance, which puts it in the running for the most culturally relevant song in recent memory.

Written during the darkest days of NYC’s first lockdown at the onset of last year’s pandemic, Career Boy’s new track is a love letter to the millions of part-time, independent contract, freelance, gig economy, side hustle warriors, or anyone whose lives might have been upended during the madness of 2020. “Scam Jam” boasts a monster bass groove, pulsing hi-hats, and jangly guitar licks; all of which lays a foundation from which the skaters, artists, baristas, and newly unemployed can sign up for sweet ass government assistance and not only survive, but keep working on their dream projects. Like we said, one of the most relevant zeitgeist songs of modern times!
