BLACK VEIL BRIDES DELIVER AN ELECTRIC NIGHT AT CHICAGO’S RAMOVA THEATRE

PHOTOGRAPHY BY ANNA RASQUE

Seeing Black Veil Brides live at The Ramova Theatre in Chicago was an unforgettable experience and a reminder of why the band has remained such an important force in the scene for so many years. I had the opportunity to photograph the show on behalf of Get Some Magazine, which made the night even more special. From the second the venue went dark, and the crowd erupted into chants of “BLACK VEIL BRIDES,” the energy inside the theater felt absolutely electric.

The band built anticipation perfectly by opening with Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D Minor” before walking onto the stage. The second they launched into “Knives and Pens” from We Stitch These Wounds, the room exploded. Fans from front to back screamed every lyric, creating an atmosphere that felt both chaotic and emotional in the best possible way.

Black Veil Brides also performed material from their latest album, VINDICATE, and hearing the newer songs live proved the band hasn’t lost a step. The tracks hit just as hard in person as they do on record, showing the band continues to evolve while still holding onto the sound that built such a dedicated fanbase. Their stage presence was massive, and the crowd matched that energy all night long.

Photographing the performance at The Ramova Theatre was equally incredible. The lighting design was beautiful, and the stage production from Black Veil Brides’ crew added another layer to the experience. From the dramatic lighting to the soft glow of candles surrounding the stage, every visual detail felt intentional and cinematic.

One of the most memorable moments of the night came when vocalist Andy Biersack stopped the performance after fans alerted the band to a medical emergency in the crowd. Andy immediately made sure the fan received help before continuing the set, a moment that showed just how much the band genuinely cares about the people supporting them. The venue staff also acted quickly and professionally to assist the fan. Throughout the night, Andy repeatedly took time to acknowledge fan signs, interact with the audience, and check in on the crowd, making the massive theater somehow still feel personal.

Black Veil Brides’ music has helped many people through difficult moments, myself included, and hearing these songs performed live felt genuinely healing. There was something powerful about being surrounded by hundreds of people all screaming the same lyrics together, connected through shared experiences and music that clearly means so much to them.

The rest of the set was pulled from across the band’s discography, including older songs many fans hadn’t heard live in years. Even after the main set ended, the crowd refused to let the night die, chanting loudly for an encore.

The band returned to perform “Lost It All,” filling the venue with emotion as Andy’s voice echoed throughout the theater. They closed the night with “In The End,” and the crowd erupted louder than ever, singing every word back at the band. It was the perfect ending to a performance that showcased not only Black Veil Brides’ musicianship and stage presence but also the deep connection they continue to share with their fans.
