“BEAUTIFUL EVERYTHING” BY ASTRAL BAKERS SOUNDS LIKE A FRESH, SUNNY DAY

Astral Bakers' collaborative efforts have shown well in each track they have dropped so far. “Beautiful Everything” seems like a natural progression from their December release, “I Don’t Remember.”

Conceptually, releasing these songs consecutively is very clever. Once you forget (or, rather, try to forget) the situation that hurt you, it does feel as though you’re walking through a beautiful, new life. The narration of the lyrics emphasizes this point, as though the vocalist is trying to convince himself that better days are ahead.

Sonically, this track is more classically indie than the previous one. The two songs sound like they were made by the same artist, but there are nods to The Strokes in “Beautiful Everything” that I simply cannot ignore, especially with the guitar stylings.

The pre-chorus and bridge are the most unique, interesting parts of the song. There is a natural build that feels ethereal to the ears, fully immersing the listener into Astral Bakers’ world and story. I also heard a few Beatles-like sounds thrown in there; each of these choices creates a full, engaging mix.

There is also an accompanying music video for the song that compliments everything nicely. It features the band in a van, musing about as they play the song. The video encompasses the song’s message of feigned optimism and creative energy, driving along an endless, open-ended road. Where the path they’re going leads them doesn’t matter; all they are focused on is the journey to get there.
