AUSSIE'S GLASS TOWERS RELEASES NEW SINGLE "NOBODY WALKS IN LA"
Sydney's Glass Towers is an 80's infused, sonically pleasing indie rock band comprised of frontman Benjamin Hannam. Formed in 2008, the band has gained national and international notoriety during a long two years of touring. During their previous tour, Hannam got the inspiration to write his newest debut single "Nobody Walks In LA" which he says was written in the notes app of his phone.
"At that time in my life, I was dealing with a lot of anxiety and mental burn out from our heavy touring schedule, we had been touring both domestically and internationally almost non stop for two years, and the transient lifestyle was catching up to me," says Hannam. "The song deals with feelings of loneliness, how someone can feel completely alone despite being constantly surrounded by so many people while traveling or just day to day."
The singer-songwriter embraces creative lyric structure with lines like, "And I cannot stand how they stand", catching your attention right before the catchy chorus, "Yes you gave me a fright 'cause/ Nobody walks in LA". When it comes to the actual production of the track, Hannam used gear that in his words have, "fallen completely out of current fashion." "On this track, I use a lot of 1990'2 digital workstation and module sounds instead of just reaching for an analog synth." Says the songwriter. "The drums were played live on a drum kit which I then processed to make it sound like a drum machine". When it comes to Glass Towers, we definitely are grateful for the man and his machine.
