AGENT BLÅ’S “SHAPES” IS A SUPERBLY CRAFTED INDIE POP SINGLE
Agent blå, a Swedish indie pop band, has a lot of heart, feelings, and emotions that fill the group’s newest track, “Shapes.” It’s a sonic delight and a treat to one’s ears as a lot is happening musically.
With “Shapes,” you will likely want to keep it on rotation and play it repeatedly. Some songs tend to be just one thing or another, not many things simultaneously, but they’re done so well in terms of “Shapes.”
The track is multi-dimensional as it is multi-layered with post-punk and shoegaze influences.
“Shapes” is more than a lush, dreamy soundscape; it is a song with guts and intelligence that probes one’s identity, existence, and how nature fits in. It really rocks, too!
Agent blå, which was formed in 2014, consists of formidable (dare I say brilliance?!) of Emelie Alatalo (vocals), Felix Skörvald (guitar, synth), Lucas Gustavsson (guitar), Sebastian Falk (bass), Arvid Christensen (drums), and Tobias Bauer (keys, guitar, percussion).
This band was destined to play together. They seem to have this innate and intrinsic ability to fit together so perfectly, and every musical part and exploration into creating new sounds and arrangements makes perfect sense in “Shapes.”
