MANDY, INDIANA UNVEIL NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “CURSIVE” AHEAD OF URGH

Mandy, Indiana continues their uncompromising run with the release of their new single and video “Cursive,” taken from their forthcoming album URGH, out February 6 via Sacred Bones Records.

“Cursive” is tense, abrasive, and intensely claustrophobic, built on industrial pressure, jagged rhythms, and a constant sense of unease that never quite lets up. The track thrives on restraint as much as force, letting repetition and atmosphere do the heavy lifting while everything slowly tightens around the listener. It’s confrontational without being messy, calculated without sounding sterile.

The music video is just as striking. Shot entirely on a subway using a fisheye lens, it feels warped, disorienting, and uncomfortably intimate in the best possible way. The distorted perspective pulls you directly into the band’s world, amplifying the track's anxiety and momentum while turning an everyday setting into something oppressive and surreal. It’s simple, effective, and incredibly dope, matching the song’s tension frame for frame.

URGH follows a growing wave of attention around Mandy, Indiana, who continues to carve out a lane somewhere between post-punk, industrial, and noise, without neatly settling into any category. Their music doesn’t aim to comfort or explain itself; instead, it invites listeners to sit with discomfort and let it sink in.

With “Cursive,” Mandy, Indiana, offers another sharp, unsettling glimpse into what URGH has in store. It’s physical, abrasive, and immersive music that feels built for dark spaces and blown-out speakers, and it only heightens anticipation for the album’s February 6 release.
