RISE AGAINST ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM RICHOCHET, DROP FIERY SINGLE “I WANT IT ALL”
Rise Against is back with a vengeance. The Chicago punk rock veterans have announced their tenth studio album, Ricochet, set for release on August 15 via Loma Vista Recordings. This marks their first full-length release since 2021's Nowhere Generation.
Accompanying the announcement is the release of their latest single, “I Want It All,” a high-energy track that encapsulates the band's signature blend of melodic hardcore and socially conscious lyrics. The song features frontman Tim McIlrath's impassioned vocals, driving guitar riffs, and an anthemic chorus that echoes the band's earlier work while pushing into new sonic territory.
Produced by Grammy winner Catherine Marks (known for her work with Boygenius, Foals, and Manchester Orchestra) and mixed by Alan Moulder (Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, Queens of the Stone Age), Ricochet promises a sound that's both polished and raw, reflecting the band's evolution over the years.
Thematically, Ricochet delves into the interconnectedness of our actions and the ripple effects they have on society. McIlrath explains, “Everything you do is going to affect somebody; everything you throw will affect the next person. We’re connected to other countries, other economies; we’re connected to undocumented immigrants. We’re connected to every decision our leaders make. It’s all one big ricochet effect.”
The album's tracklist includes previously released singles “Nod” and “Prizefighter,” both of which have been praised for their timely messages and energetic compositions. With Ricochet, Rise Against continues to challenge listeners to reflect on societal issues while delivering the hard-hitting music they've become known for.
