There’s something special about a band that knows exactly what they’re doing on their first full-length, and Knumears feel locked in from the jump. The band has officially announced their debut album ‘Directions,’ due out April 3 via Run For Cover Records and Summer Shade, and if the first single is any indication, this record is going to hit hard.
Alongside the announcement, Knumears has shared “Fade Away,” a bruising new track featuring guest vocals from Jeff Smith of Jeromes Dream. The collaboration feels less like a feature and more like a collision. Smith’s unmistakable delivery cuts straight through the chaos, adding another layer of tension to a song that already feels tightly wound and emotionally volatile.
“Fade Away” is raw, urgent, and uncomfortable in the best way. The guitars scrape and grind, the rhythm section never lets up, and the vocals sound like they’re being pulled straight out of the chest. There’s a real sense of push and pull here, moments of restraint snapping into explosive release, the kind of songwriting that sticks with you long after the track ends.
For a debut album, Directions already feels confident and purposeful. Knumears aren’t easing anyone in. They’re making a statement, planting their flag alongside the kind of heavy, emotionally charged music that Run For Cover has been known to champion for years. With April 3 circled on the calendar and “Fade Away” setting the tone, this is a band you’re going to want to keep very close to your radar.
