ZOYA ZAFAR'S NEW SINGLE "YOU MEANT NOTHING, TOO" IS A DECEPTIVELY GENTL SONG WHERE NO LOVE IS LOST

“You Meant Nothing, Too” is a sad and somber new single by singer/songwriter Zoya Zafar. Zafar alludes to something that looks like the end of a connection and relationship. It feels and sounds like it’s a mutual decision, too, between Zafar and her former boyfriend. Maybe they were trying to rekindle something that wasn’t there after a period apart and/or revisiting something that could have never been there or that strongly, to begin with.

Her plaintive vocals ruminate over this loss in sort of an empty, detached way with melodic guitar strumming gently and quietly in the background along with keyboards in this indie rock/dream pop song. The bare-bones song begs for more answers and details “about what happened” in “You Meant Nothing, too.” Unfortunately, Zafar and her interest came to that conclusion after a brief time in each other’s presence once again and the lack of chemistry and vibes don’t lie.
