CONVERGE UNLEASH “DOOM IN BLOOM” FROM HUM OF HURT, SECOND 2026 LP OUT JUNE 5

Converge is back in full attack mode. The band has dropped a new single and video titled “Doom In Bloom,” the latest preview of their upcoming album Hum of Hurt, arriving June 5. And yeah, they’re really doing it again. A second full-length in 2026. No slowdown, no victory lap. Just more fuel on the fire.
“Doom In Bloom” is raw and bloody from the jump. Kurt Ballou’s spiky riffs scrape against Nate Newton’s low end while Ben Koller drives the whole thing forward like it’s about to come off the rails at any second. It’s the kind of track that feels like it’s actively unraveling while somehow staying locked in.
At the center of it all, Jacob Bannon sounds absolutely shredded. You can practically hear his throat tearing apart in every scream. “It’s dark and pointed right at you,” Bannon says. “Lyrically, I’m exploring how my own middle-aged introspection doesn’t always bring a brighter light. I see my own trappings reflected in those around me. Here I am imploring them to slip the noose to see another day.”
The video doubles down on that suffocating tension. It shows a subject being pummeled by waves, repeatedly overwhelmed as if they’re trying to stay afloat but can’t quite break through. The entire scene is drenched in deep red lighting, giving it a claustrophobic, almost suffocating feel that mirrors the song’s emotional weight.
Hum of Hurt is shaping up to be another reminder that Converge don’t age out; they evolve forward. Decades deep and they still sound urgent, still dangerous, still like they’ve got something to prove.
They’ll be taking it overseas, too. Converge head out on a European and UK tour this June and July, bringing that chaos straight into packed rooms that are guaranteed to turn into pressure cookers within minutes.
