WET LEG ARE BACK WITH A NEW ALBUM, NEW SOUND, AND THE SAME IRRESISTIBLE WEIRDNESS

Two years after storming the scene with their quirky, deadpan debut, Wet Leg are officially entering a new chapter. The Isle of Wight five-piece — known for their “party music for people who want to stay in” — have spent the past couple of years touring relentlessly and soaking in the glow of their breakout success. Now, they’re gearing up for round two.
Their sophomore album, moisturizer, is set to arrive July 11 via Domino, and the rollout has officially begun. The band has started slipping new material into their live sets, and today they’ve shared the first official single: the fiery, fast-paced “catch these fists.”
Speaking to BBC Radio 1, vocalist Rhian Teasdale described the track as inspired by “the recurring real-life nightmare of people invading your space.” It’s loud, it’s chaotic, and it hits with the kind of energy that feels cathartic and confrontational — a new flavor for the band without losing their edge.
Beyond the punches, though, moisturizer dives into more personal territory. Teasdale opens up about a shift in perspective that shaped the songwriting process: “I thought I was straight all of my life until I met my current partner — these love songs are about them,” she shared. “It just felt more interesting, more empowering, to write love songs that weren’t centered around a man. It hits a little differently.”
That tension — between the playful and the profound — is captured perfectly in the video for “catch these fists.” Directed by the band and shot in their hometown, the clip is pure Wet Leg: boomboxes blaring, milk chugging on the move, underwear by Praying, and an oddly charming kidnapping that ties the whole thing together in their signature off-kilter style.
moisturizer is shaping up to be more than just a follow-up — it’s a reflection of who Wet Leg are becoming, both sonically and personally. Check out the video for “catch these fists” below, along with the album artwork and full tracklist.
