I PROMISED THE WORLD SHARE NEW SINGLE “A PURE EXPRESSION”
North Texas screamo outfit I Promised The World have dropped their new single “A Pure Expression,” the latest look at their upcoming self-titled EP, due out January 16 via Rise Records. It follows their earlier single “Bliss In 7 Languages” and continues the band’s run of emotionally charged, heavy-but-melodic material.
“A Pure Expression” balances guttural vocals with bright, winding guitars and a strong sense of momentum. The song moves back and forth between soft introspection and full-force release, giving it the kind of tension-and-release the band has been leaning into more as they’ve grown. The performance feels honest and immediate, and there’s a clear jump in confidence from their early releases.
The timing is deliberate. The band is gearing up for their first-ever headlining tour, set to run through January, with support from Sky Came Falling and Rosasharin. They’ll hit cities like Orlando, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Chicago, and Denton—marking their first national run since signing to Rise Records.
And they aren’t slowing down after that. Once the headline dates wrap, I Promised The World will head back out in March and April, joining The Devil Wears Prada on the band’s Flowers Tour. They’ll be on the road alongside Split Chain and Four Year Strong, giving the North Texas group a chance to play for much bigger crowds throughout the spring.
“A Pure Expression” arrives at a moment where the band seems to be leveling up on all fronts: songwriting, production, and visibility. It’s a promising preview of the EP and a clear sign that they’re stepping into a much bigger year.
