THE WHITE STRIPES INDUCTED INTO ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME CLASS OF 2025

Detroit's own The White Stripes have officially been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025. The announcement was made during a special episode of American Idol on April 27, 2025, with the induction ceremony scheduled for November 8 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The event will be streamed live on Disney+, with replays available on ABC and Hulu .

Formed in 1997 by Jack White and Meg White, The White Stripes emerged as a defining force in the garage rock revival of the early 2000s. Their minimalist approach, characterized by a raw blend of punk blues and indie rock, was complemented by a striking red, white, and black aesthetic. Over the course of their career, they released six studio albums, including the critically acclaimed White Blood Cells (2001) and the Grammy-winning Elephant (2003), which featured the iconic track "Seven Nation Army" .

The duo's influence extended beyond their music. Their distinctive style and enigmatic public persona captivated audiences worldwide. Despite disbanding in 2011, their legacy has endured, culminating in this prestigious recognition. Notably, The White Stripes become the 22nd act from Detroit to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame, following in the footsteps of legends like Aretha Franklin and The Supremes .

The Class of 2025 also includes a diverse array of artists: Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Soundgarden, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, and Joe Cocker in the Performer category. Additional honors will be bestowed upon Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon (Musical Influence Award), Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, and Carol Kaye (Musical Excellence Award), and Lenny Waronker (Ahmet Ertegun Award).

As fans eagerly anticipate the induction ceremony, speculation abounds regarding a possible reunion performance by Jack and Meg White. While the duo has remained largely out of the public eye since their split, the Hall of Fame event could provide a fitting stage for a memorable return.
