THE PLANETS ALIGN FOR KUTIE’S NEW SINGLE “BLOODMOON”
How many bands can sound this locked in while still looking like they can’t get into a bar? On their new track “Bloodmoon,” Central Valley, CA up-and-comers Kutie push their mix of punk and alternative hardcore into something heavier, sharper, and way more dialed than you’d expect this early on.
The sound is raw and stripped back, but it hits hard. “Bloodmoon” leans into that no-frills punk energy and makes it count. Vocalist Ellie Gonzalez carries much of the weight, jumping between emotional and aggressive tones without losing control. Behind her, Gavin Gonzalez keeps everything moving on drums, steady but never boring, while Jackson Marinez throws down fast, restless riffs that keep the whole thing from sitting still.
Together, it clicks. It’s loud, a little chaotic, but still tight enough to feel intentional. That kind of balance is hard to fake, and they don’t try to clean it up.
You can hear the influences if you want to dig for them. There’s some old-school punk backbone in there, a bit of grit that feels like it came from bands like Kittie, and flashes of melody that sneak in without softening the edge. But it doesn’t feel like a copy. It feels like a band figuring out their own lane and leaning into it.
“Bloodmoon” isn’t just another step forward. It feels like the moment things start to click for real.
