The Islas new track “Close” is a high octane, rock’n’roll rager, and a deeply personal, existential crisis of faith. The way the band manages to blend these seemingly contradictory vibes into their latest single is a testament to their songwriting prowess. Forlorn lyrics about alienation and disillusionment with religion, mesh with buzzing guitars and out this world drums. The end result is one hell of a rock jam; the kind that gets your heart pounding, feet jumping, and thoughts racing. Perhaps we should all just put our faith in music people.
