Arising from the chaos of the 2020 pandemic, the indie-pop meets electronic wizards in SUGARFUNGUS have emerged; proving that maybe not everything about the last year has been terrible. Formed during the madness of quarantine, the members of Sugarfungus worked remotely online to craft what would become their debut release, the upcoming Letting Go, Moving Still EP. If their new single “Ghosts” is any indication, that record’s going to be catchy as hell. “Ghosts” crams a lifetime of piano magic, sublime guitar noodles, funky bass grooves, lockstep beats, and vocal hooks, into three minutes and forty-second ride that’s worth every moment, and every replay.
