SITTING ON SATURN RELEASES NEW ALT-INDIE SINGLE “TICKET TO NEW YORK”

Sitting on Saturn gives us their new single “Ticket to New York” - an indie alt-rock song about that part of you that still holds on to love, even when it’s over or ending—something sweet in the bitter.

The layers of driving rhythm guitars and melodies, with distant fuzzy filtered vocals, will give you that happy/sad feeling from start to end. Complete with a guitar solo bridge and echoes of satisfying and impressive harmonies, Hoyt pours out heartfelt lyrics in a soaring soundscape of an outro.

The So-Cal-based band tells us:

This song started as a simple voice memo—just an acapella melody Hoyt had sung while dog sitting—but it stuck with him, and it quickly grew into something bigger. It became a collaboration between our band and two of our friends. We pulled from past relationships as an inspiration for the lyrics and recorded, produced, and mixed it ourselves at our home studio.”

The release comes complete with a moody music video that’s both serious and uplifting. The band plays the emotional song for a rowdy crowd of party-goers. Despite the fun of life all around them, you can’t help but notice the singer is in his inner world.

“Ticket to New York” genre bends to lend itself well to fans of Neon Trees, Matchbox Twenty, and Train.
