RÜFÜS DU SOL PACKS BANC OF CALIFORNIA STADIUM FOR THREE JAW-DROPPING SHOWS
As if music isn’t already an addiction, Rüfüs Du Sol decided to intoxicate Los Angeles with three exhilarating nights at the Banc of California Stadium on November 12th, 13th, and 14th.
Yeah, that’s right. Three sold-out nights at 23,500 people per evening. If you’re claustrophobic, either take a prescribed amount of Xanax or find some inner strength because missing these performances would have left you in concert contempt.
Luckily for us at Get Some Magazine, we were able to witness the first night of the mind-bending performance, and let us tell you, our lives will never be the same.
WhoMadeWho, a three-piece of dazzling gents from Copenhagen, Denmark broke the seal for the evenings’ festivities. Dominated by an onslaught of refined beats and crystal-clear vocals, WhoMadeWho quickly magnetized the crowd to their sly and lustful sounds. Tracks such as “Tell Me Are We”, “Heads Above”, and “Abu Simbel” all made an appearance.
Flight Facilities arrived onstage circa 8:15 PM, slightly before their scheduled set time. The duo hailing from Sydney consisting of Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell are two mates that know exactly how to work their musical magic. With tracks such as “Forever” and “Foreign Language”, auditory arousal was present and accounted for. Special appearances by Owl Eyes and Ric Rufio caused absolute bliss amongst the thousands in the crowd. Owl Eyes’ vocals on the legendary track “Crave You” were as if you were being cleansed from the ears in. Ric Rufio and Flight Facilities teamed up for a heap of tracks including the mashup by Eric Prydz titled “Pjanoo”, which ignited the audience to the point of a backdraft.
Circa 9:45 PM, three local Aussies originally from Sydney known by the name Rüfüs Du Sol graced the massive stage that was built on their behalf. It was as if this very moment in time was made especially for them.
“Intro” was the first track to welcome the sold-out crowd to the Grammy-nominated EDM juggernauts. With a lighting rig that was dormant for the first half of the song, the second half was the complete opposite: lights spraying the audience in a bath of highly refind lumens.
As if the lighting from the first song wasn’t enough, the second track “Eyes” upped the ante even more followed by the forever popular banger “You Were Right”. Not a single body in the venue was observed standing still. Not a frown in the audience was spotted. Pure chills and straight-up thrills.
The night progressed at what seemed like a rapid pace. Killer track after killer track ripped through the PA like it was the end of the world. Lead singer Tyrone Lindqvist made sure to periodically thank the crowd for what he would bill as “one of the greatest nights of my life”.
After performing the song “Innerbloom”, the threesome made a quick exit to only be pulled back on stage by rapturous applause. “Next to You” and “No Place” were the final tracks of the forever-cemented-in-history evening.
