POWER POP'S LANEY LYNX NEEDS TO GET SOMETHING OFF HER CHEST WITH NEW SINGLE "VENTING"
Indie pop's Laney Lynx has a knack for mastering the art of creating pop hits. The singer-songwriter made her start by working with producer Kara DioGuardi, and talents such as Charlie Puth, Ingrid Andress, and Betty Who at the prestigious Berklee College Of Music. From there, this flower power pop star has graced stages all over the world, from performing at Serena Willam's wedding to sharing the stage with the likes of Carole King, The Eagles, John Mayer, Marren Morris, and being featured on televisions "The Freshmen on MTV".
Laney Lynx’s accolades are star-studded and are sure to catch your attention, but listen up, because this girl next door has something to say, and she really means it. Breaking out of her normal day, this pop star has been trying to work through the global pandemic with her music. Lynx has taken her craft to a whole new level by keeping the impeccable caliber of her previous studio-recorded work and has applied the same finesse in her recent remote work coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her most recent single "Venting" is shimmering, brutally honest, and your next earworm. Simple production layers create a broad sonic ground to support her powerful breathtaking vocals, something we all look forward to when we listen to Laney Lynx. Like most of her work, her lyrics are conversational, "Had a few bad days/ Have you noticed that?/ And no confrontation means no arguments/ But the space between us lying in the bed/ Is getting bigger", suggesting that the confide spaces of quarantine are getting to her. The chorus releases a monologue that we have all been dying to say out loud, "There'll be a little bit of hurt feelings/ And a little bit of being honest/ And a little bit of trash talkin'/ And a lot a bit of word vomit/ And I'll try to keep my cool/ But it'll just keep spilling out/ And you'll be sensing/ That I'm venting/‘cause I really mean it".
Conflict resolution is officially served on a beautiful flower embroidered platter, complete with a side of 'safe space' and that glittering smile we all find comfort in. Hopefully, after a few hours of singing the chorus in your head, you too will want to vent, let it out, and find a resolution in your own personal conflict.
