POOLSIDE CHILLS OUT THE WILTERN THEATRE

WORDS AND PhotoS By Allyssa Cornier

Poolside played at the beautiful Wiltern Theater for their LA date on the Blame It All On Love Tour. They were expecting 1200 attendees and close to 2000 ended up coming out to see them!

Slenderbodies opened up the night where there was lots of dancing and smiles from the crowd. Their 45-minute set was well-lit allowing me to take photos of them enjoying their time with those who were there early enough to experience their unique and upbeat sound.

During the transition, fans talked amongst themselves or fled to the bars or merch table to spend the 30 minutes they had to spare.

When Poolside got onstage, the audience welcomed them with enthusiasm and a sea of phones to record the introductory sax. Their production included a projection of the band's logo, plants, and simple vertical standing lights in addition to house lights on the darker side for the majority of their hour-long set making it a little more difficult to shoot but it all worked out. Poolside kept the crowd dancing with their lively music throughout the night and it was sweet getting to see how much everyone enjoyed themselves -- band and audience alike.
