The Irish alt-rockers in Plastic Cowboys have crafted one hell of a 21st-century power ballad, called “Mundane Ecstasy.” Their new track is packed to the brim with walloping bass grooves, a cavalcade of guitar goodness, cymbal smashing galore, and nigh perfect vocal hooks that practically entice you to sing along louder with each listen. Around the 3:20 mark, there’s an epic guitar solo that’s punctuated by the ping of the bell ride and the interplay between the two is incendiary.
