PETER ANDERSON’S NEW RELEASE “PHOSPHENES” IS CHILLED-OUT LO-FI GOODNESS

Peter Anderson self-describes his new song, “Phosphenes,” as “a mystical, jazzy, lo-fi escapade.” More actual words have never been spoken; that’s the best way to describe the short but sweet track. This no-nonsense, clean beat feels like studying in low lighting with your favorite scented candle burning nearby.

Instrumentally, there is quite a bit going on within this mix. Ambient choral vocals create depth and layers, giving listeners a bit of a focal point while other things swim around their eardrums.

The guitar playing in this song is perhaps its most impressive and unique quality. The song is heavily jazz-inclined, so this shouldn’t be as surprising as it is. However, the solo beginning around the middle of the track is incredible.

This song and Lo-fi Beats Girl should have a party. Everyone would be so productive.
