OVERSIZE ENTER A NEW ERA WITH SOARING ALT-SHOEGAZE SINGLE “SEPARATE”

British alt-shoegaze outfit OVERSIZE is officially entering a new era with the release of their stunning new single “Separate,” out now via SharpTone Records.
The track arrives roughly a year after the release of the band’s debut album, Vital Signs, and marks the introduction of new vocalist Nick Nowak. More than simply introducing a new voice to the band, “Separate” marks a fresh creative chapter for OVERSIZE as they continue to figure out exactly what they want the band to be.
According to OVERSIZE, making Vital Signs gave them a much clearer understanding of themselves as both musicians and a band, something they’re now carrying into the material they’ve been working on since.
Interestingly, “Separate” almost wasn’t part of their original studio plans. The song was the final track written before OVERSIZE headed in to record, coming together only about a week before the sessions began. Despite already having their recording plans mapped out, the band quickly realized the new song was simply too good to leave behind.
“We finished it about a week before, and despite thinking we had our minds set on which tracks we were going to track, it was abundantly clear we had to do this one,” they explain.
Now “Separate” serves as the first glimpse into what comes next for OVERSIZE, pairing a new lineup with a renewed creative outlook as the British alt-shoegazers move beyond their debut era.
And fans won’t have to wait long to experience this new chapter live. OVERSIZE will hit the road across the UK and Europe next month alongside The Devil Wears Prada, Novelists and 156/Silence.
