OPPSTØT RAISES HELL WITH HORROR-PUNK RIPPER “TAKE ME TO THE CEMETERY”

The one-man DIY punk rock wrecking crew Oppstøt is back with a killer new single, “Take Me to the Cemetery,” an absolute blast of old-school punk aggression. Clocking in at roughly two and a half minutes, this relentless rager wastes no time unleashing blistering power chords, pounding bass drums, and enough cymbal abuse to wake the dead.

The bass sits perfectly in the mix, delivering a pulsing, almost frantic groove beneath guitars that chug, rip, and tear through simple but ridiculously infectious melodies. It's fast, loud, and gloriously unpolished in all the right ways, capturing the raw spirit of DIY punk without sacrificing an ounce of catchiness.

Imagine stumbling across a long-lost Misfits recording buried in a dusty mausoleum, and you'll have a pretty good idea of what Oppstøt is cooking. It's got a heavy dose of classic horror-punk attitude, complete with Danzig-era vocal hooks that practically demand a room full of sweaty punks shouting “whoa-oh-oh” at the top of their lungs.

What makes “Take Me to the Cemetery” so much fun is its complete lack of pretension. Oppstøt isn't reinventing punk rock, and that's precisely the point. The track delivers everything fans love about the genre: breakneck tempos, crunchy riffs, shout-along choruses, and a mischievous sense of fun.

For fans of old-school hardcore, skate punk, and anything that sounds better blasting from a stereo surrounded by Halloween decorations, this one's a no-brainer.
