LIP CRITIC GO ALL IN WITH CHAOTIC NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO “JACKPOT”
New York’s genre-bending outfit Lip Critic are back with a new single titled “Jackpot,” a track that finds the band leaning even further into their chaotic mix of electronic beats, punk energy, and industrial noise.
“Jackpot” moves with the same unpredictable energy its title suggests. Built around pounding rhythms, distorted synths, and an unhinged sense of momentum, the track feels like a collision between a rave and a basement punk show. It’s abrasive, fast-moving, and unmistakably Lip Critic.
The song arrives alongside a new music video directed by Colter Fellows, which places vocalist Bret Kaser inside a casino as a gambler riding the highs and lows of chance. Throughout the video, Kaser revels in his wins while being increasingly drawn toward the flashing slot machines, leaning into the track’s chaotic, slightly surreal atmosphere.
The release continues the band’s current narrative arc surrounding their upcoming material, inspired in part by a bizarre real-life incident in which a fan stole Kaser’s identity. Leaning into that strange chapter, Lip Critic has announced Theft Saga, a series of unconventional New York City shows that reflect the band’s offbeat creative instincts.
The run will see the band perform inside a laundromat on March 21, a basement bar on March 26, and a boxing ring on April 9, turning everyday spaces into chaotic performance environments. After the NYC shows, Lip Critic will launch a headlining North American tour.
Since emerging from New York’s underground scene, Lip Critic have built a reputation for refusing to sit comfortably in any single genre. Their sound pulls from electronic music, hardcore, industrial, and experimental rock, creating something that feels deliberately unpredictable.
