MY FRIEND NOEL RELEASES NEW INDIE ROCK SINGLE.

NYC-based indie rock band My Friend Noel has released their new single, “Self Control”. Despite its more brooding message about being alone after heartbreak, the production is clean and crisp. It has bright vocals that cut through to deliver a big anthemic chorus, eventually leading up to its soaring outro of guitar solos and layers of group vocals. The vulnerable and heartfelt lyrics are about that very real, almost bittersweet moment after a breakup when you admit that being all alone will be okay.  (“Listless nights, no one by my side // Didn’t lose my mind, I toed the line // But I’m better off, me myself and I”). The song takes us on the journey from learning your harsh lessons in love, dragging your feet through the confusing aftermath, and then learning how to protect yourself with some self-control not to let people in so easily next time and focus on the only person you have - yourself.

With its classic indie-rock guitar tones, driving melodic bass riffs, and a straightforward production style, “Self Control” is not to miss. Fans of Soccer Mommy, Snail Mail, and Boygenius will eat this track right up!
