Striking the balance between melancholy and playfulness is the American alt-rock act Moonglow. On his latest offering “Nobody Cares (You’re Sitting At Home)”, he invites you into his smoke-filled oasis of solitude, an ode to creative minds that indulge in their loneliness in order to create their art.

The track’s darker themes of isolation are mirrored by Moonglow’s glorious production. It’s a feast of lo fi rock delights with a gritty distorted edge to his vocals which really pack a punch - driving the looping refrain home as he repeats “nobody cares about you”. Instrumentally, there’s a lot of subtlety to unpack here too, under a flickering drum groove lies a thumping bass line, humming guitar swells, and the delicate twinkle of descending synths.
