MONTAND'S DEBUT SINGLE "MERRY MOUNT" PUTS THE LISTENER IN A COWBOY STATE OF MIND

Alternative rock group Montand delivers a single that sounds like it could be right out of a classic gunslinging horse riding spaghetti western film.

The eerie vocal melody, in the beginning, sets the tone of the song as mysterious and ominous, and then when the acoustic guitar comes in, you immediately are transported to a desert ready to bust open the saloon doors for ice-cold sarsaparilla.

This song is honestly beautiful, the production is spot on and the arrangement and musicianship clearly show how dedicated these artists are. The deep low register vocal’s tell a story throughout the song and the organ sprinkled behind it gives me hints that these guys might be fans of the legendary psych-rock group The Doors. The drummer’s snare follows a traditional western pattern throughout the verses and keeps the cowboy feeling intact. The background vocals in the chorus are beautiful and really tie the song together.

The singer takes a final spoken word verse that wraps up the story that is being told throughout the song and really does captivate the listener. This definitely is a song you’re going to want to listen to more than just once. I highly recommend this song and would easily buy tickets to their show if they came to town.
