MISS MAY I COME OUT SWINGING WITH CRUSHING NEW SINGLE “DEATH THREAT”

Metalcore veterans Miss May I are keeping their foot firmly on the gas with “Death Threat,” the latest taste of their forthcoming eighth studio album, No Place For Me, arriving October 2 via Solid State Records. The track is the fourth advance offering from the record and comes accompanied by a brand-new lyric video.

If you’ve followed Miss May I for any portion of their nearly two-decade run, you already know what these guys do best. “Death Threat” taps into the band's crushing side while carrying the kind of urgency that has kept them relevant across multiple generations of metalcore. It’s heavy, pissed off, and another reminder that Miss May has absolutely no interest in mellowing out with age.

No Place For Me marks a significant new chapter for the Ohio band. Not only is it their eighth full-length, but it will also be their first studio album released through Solid State Records. The record follows 2022’s Curse of Existence and is set to feature 10 tracks, including previously released material such as “Sanctuary,” “Die On The Vine,” and “Hand Me A Halo.”

Miss May I have spent years building a catalog around huge riffs, melodic hooks, and breakdowns that practically come with instructions to open the pit, and everything surrounding No Place For Me points toward another massive entry in that catalog. “Death Threat” only adds more fuel to the fire.

"'Death Threat' is about being held in an emotional chokehold while someone uses your own flaws against you," declares lead singer Levi Benton. "Our darker habits deserve to be seen and worked through, not weaponized. The song walks through that worst-case scenario — someone turning your darkness on you — before landing on clarity; finally hearing what needs to be heard and doing what needs to be done."

And because releasing a new album apparently isn’t enough, Miss May I will hit the road this fall for a massive co-headlining run with fellow metalcore veterans Born of Osiris. The tour stretches through November and December, with Convictions and Downswing joining as support on at least several dates. Confirmed stops include Pontiac, New Orleans, Denver, Pomona, Columbia, and more.

Nearly 20 years into their career, Miss May I aren’t simply hanging around waiting for nostalgia to do the work. There’s a new label, a new album, new music, and another lengthy run of shows ahead. LFG.
