MARINA FLEMING’S NEW SINGLE “HARVEY” ABOUT THE END OF A RELATIONSHIP EVOKES A MULTITUDE OF EMOTIONS

It’s never easy or cut and dry when one loses in love. Reminiscent of the stages of grief but with detours into complicated feelings and being all over the place because genuinely caring about someone can be a messy affair, especially when that intimate and intense connection ends. One does ruminate on the time together and all those conflicting thoughts and inner turmoil. It’s processing everything that goes into overdrive when one’s emotions are so fresh and raw. The bitter, sweet, sad, and hopeful that this person could have been the “one.” It’s the ultimate and devastating letdown and can be pretty heartbreaking.

That’s how Marina Fleming’s latest track, “Harvey,” an indie pop song with a grunge edge, comes across. With a wisp of light, gentle and feminine voice, Fleming has that unique ability and gift for writing a song that is universal and relatable to any listener who has experienced the rollercoaster ride of amour. She has tapped into so much internally (blood and guts) and laid it bare in a very literate, descriptive way that runs the gamut of colorful, vivid expressions from anger and resentment to the pathos of dark humor.
