Lovedrop just dropped one of the most unhinged and addictive tracks of the year with “Pretty Girls Should Always Smile.”

It barely feels like a traditional song. It’s more like getting thrown into controlled chaos. The track opens with a blast of electro and dance energy, then stacks on punishing drums, thick guitar riffs, and a wild back-and-forth between theatrical cleans and full-on screams. It shouldn’t hold together this well, but it does.

Just when it feels like it might completely spin out, there’s a spacey, almost post-rock break around the three-minute mark that pulls everything into focus before it ramps right back up.
