Converge has officially announced their new album, Love Is Not Enough, and released its gripping title track, along with a powerful music video. The whole record arrives February 13, 2026, via Deathwish and Epitaph, and early signs point to one of the most significant releases of their career.
For more than three decades, Converge has delivered musical and emotional catharsis with a sense of purpose that has defined their legacy. From the landmark Jane Doe to the haunting, collaborative world of Bloodmoon: I, the band has consistently created some of the most compelling music, lyrics, and visual art of the twenty-first century. Few groups have had a deeper or more lasting impact on the underground imagination.
With Love Is Not Enough, Converge enters its thirty-fifth year as a band and prepares to release its eleventh studio album. It would seem unlikely for any group with this much history to create a late-career apex, yet this record may very well be exactly that. The album feels like the culmination of everything vocalist and lyricist Jacob Bannon, guitarist and producer Kurt Ballou, bassist and vocalist Nate Newton, and drummer Ben Koller have built together. It is a strident artistic statement on the turmoil of living, sharpening their collective strengths to an almost surgical precision.
The newly released title track sets the tone immediately. It is intense, emotionally exposed, and musically unrelenting. Bannon’s vocals tear through the mix with a clarity shaped by exhaustion, empathy, and defiance, while Ballou’s guitar work cuts forward with inventive force. Newton and Koller keep the foundation tight and punishing, creating a sense of forward motion that never lets up.
Lyrically, “Love Is Not Enough” explores the struggle to remain compassionate in a fractured world. Bannon explains that the song explores “what it means to remain empathetic and compassionate in the modern world. A reckoning with who we are today and hope to be in the future if we can fend off the scavengers.” The music video echoes that tension, capturing a world where humanity feels fragile but still fiercely worth fighting for.
The release of this track hints that Love Is Not Enough may stand as one of the most emotionally rich and musically vital entries in the Converge catalog. It carries the urgency of a band still searching, questioning, still burning with the same fire that first defined them more than three decades ago.
With more news and music expected soon, one thing is already clear. Converge has returned with a work that refuses to fade into the background. Love Is Not Enough is shaping up to be a defining moment in the next chapter of one of heavy music’s most enduring and influential bands.
