LHASA PETIK USHERS IN NEW SOLO VENTURE WITH UPLIFTING SINGLE “BE OK”

Most fans are familiar with Lhasa Petik’s work in Oh Caroline, but she is trying something new for size, which fits her like a glove. Now, the songstress embarks on a whimsical sonic adventure with her single “Be OK,” encapsulating the project’s overall energy. Modern, energetic, and technically skilled, Petik’s single entices listeners across genre divides. Yes, this is technically electro-pop, veering into EDM territory, but even those who won’t be dancing at a nightclub to this gem will find something they resonate with.

Ultimately, Petik’s focus is on mental health topics. A satisfying contrast exists between her organic lyricism and the electronic song production. Each feature enhances the song, creating an exciting and reflective listening experience.

Additionally, the themes derive from Petik’s real-life experiences. She has struggled with depression in her waking life; continually opening up these conversations allows others to find peace with their experiences. Furthermore, the aesthetically pleasing song already feels like a “safe place.” Someone can turn it on when feeling down, only to be greeted by a world of vivid color through sounds.

I’m known for reviewing heavier music within punk rock and heavy metal. Still, “Be OK” was comforting as a listener and could find its way into my playlists.
