TWO-MAN GIANT SQUID IS PLAYFUL AND PERFECT IN “3 HITS”

Two-Man Giant Squid is done with the b.s. in “3 Hits,” carving out their own path of creation in an era of immense pressure to perform.

The heavy bass immediately initiates you into a dark mood, complemented by the sarcastic vocals. Harnessing the iconic sound of post-punk with steady synth sounds and a Robert Smith-inspired voice, Two-Man Giant Squid tries something new and grungy, perfectly matching the overall theme of the track.

The chorus is perfect, dark vocals that fluctuate with the hypnotic melody: “Nobody called you back.” It’s as much danceable as it is clever, the band refusing to skimp out on either quality.

They’re a band that's open to interpretation, one that is willing to fight back against the norm of the current music industry. They tell a tale of being burnt out and starved of creativity because the industry always asks for more.

This track speaks to everyone tired of streaming services taking advantage of the hand that feeds them – musicians. With criminal payouts ranging from $0.001 to $0.005 per stream, a song with a million plays would only make around $3,180 on Spotify.

“3 Hits” screams enough is enough. Using energetic shouts, deep-cutting bass, and otherworldly synths, Two-Man Giant Squid maintains their musical integrity while still integrating a playful side that is very welcome.
