LAINE REX’S “PIPE DREAM” TURNS REALITY WITH DEBUT EP RELEASE

Erin Dickinson, aka Laine Rex, has been a musical project decades in the making with Erin spending hours on end recording in her bedroom to master her synth-pop prowess. The young singer/songwriter has now released her debut EP Dreaming Is Not A Waste Of Time, featuring her latest single, “Pipe Dream”.

The four-track LP blends 80’s style drum machine rhythms, pop vocal melodies, and an array of vintage-sounding synthesizers crafting Laine’s signature electronic pop sound that runs through the entire project. The second track from the LP “Pipe Dream” is really quite playful yet anthemic in its structure and delivery. Starting with some staccato synth stabs, the track is layered with plucky guitars and dreamy textures creating a dense and uplifting soundscape.

Speaking on the singles subject matter, Erin says “I didn’t really know what the song was about when I was writing it because I was mainly writing down subconscious thoughts, but after interpreting my own lyrics, I realized that it has to do with moving past the idea that there is something wrong with being yourself and instead to just embrace who you are.
