Guitar aficionados, rejoice! The Memphis rock ’n’ rollers in Joybomb have a stellar new single, “Faith & Chemistry,” ready to spice up your summer. Joybomb cranks out some of the finest pop-punk-inspired alt-rock these ears have heard in ages. Their latest tune continues this trajectory, packing in more crunchy riffs and guitar melodies than should be allowed by mere mortals. Catchy hooks? Check. Bangin’ rhythm section? Check. Sheer mastery of pop/rock songwriting…that’s a check. As much as we love the meat and potatoes of “Faith & Chemistry,” the song’s closing halftime breakdown seals the deal for us. Close your eyes and decide whether you want to play air drums or air guitar, maybe both if you’re an advanced A-tier rocker.
