JENNY O. DROPS CATCHIEST TUNE OF THE CENTURY W/ "SOLITARY GIRL"
Jenny O.’s new single “Solitary Girl” is one of the best indie/alternative rock songs these jaded ears have heard in ages. Genres aside, “Solitary Girl” just might be one of the catchiest songs we’ve heard, like ever. Conjuring retro rock vibes from the 1960s, mixed with 80s/early 90’s alt-rock fuzz, Jenny O.’s latest hits all the right spots simultaneously. Superb vocals that absolutely blow up your headphones in the best way possible? Check. A never wavering hi-hat/ride cymbal groove that compels you to dance? Check. Catchy guitar chords and thumping bass lines that mesh into a weirdly hypnotic wall of distortion crescendo at the end? Check. It’s hard to pin down exactly why “Solitary Girl” rules so much, but after one listen, there’s no denying that it does.
