IMMINENCE EXPAND ‘AXIS MUNDI’ WITH HAUNTING NEW SINGLE “IF NOT NOW, WHEN”

Imminence is a Swedish metalcore band from Trelleborg that has been creating music since 2010, building a sound around a masterful blend of crushing breakdowns, melodic vocals, and Eddie Berg’s unmistakable violin work. The band independently released their first EP, Born of Sirius, in 2012, but more than a decade later, Imminence are operating on an entirely different level.
Their new album, Axis Mundi, arrives October 2, 2026 via Sumerian Records, and it’s one you’re going to regret sleeping on. Especially after hearing their brand-new single, “If Not Now, When,” released August 26.
“If Not Now, When” captures the sound Imminence have seemingly been trying to unlock, pushing the band into a new dimension while perfectly fitting the underlying theme of Axis Mundi. The term “axis mundi” refers to a connection between different spiritual planes, essentially a bridge between realms, and that idea feels woven throughout everything Imminence is creating around this record.
“If Not Now, When” makes you want to get real with yourself while simultaneously getting down with the sickness. The song takes you on a pilgrimage through grungy vocals, mystical builds, theatrical breakdowns, and an emotional violin solo that feels like it could rip your soul directly out of your body.
And that’s what Imminence does so damn well.
Their music feels like an out-of-body experience, constantly transporting you somewhere else. Across their albums and songs, there’s an interconnected story running beneath the surface, taking listeners through self-discovery, trials and tribulations, and ultimately toward new perspectives. The brutality gets you through the door, but the emotion and atmosphere are what keep you there.
