IIIPOINTS MUSIC FESTIVAL? IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS?! WHAT?!?!
It’s an understatement to say that we all have missed live music and have been craving it ever since the pandemic hit. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that light is visible in South Florida in the form of the iiiPoints Music Festival.
This lineup is absolutely stacked with a wide variety of acts from all over. The headliners include indie alt-rock legends The Strokes, rap gods Wu-Tang Clan, electronic maestro Kaytranada, EDM savant Eric Prydz. There are also three more headliners to yet be announced that are blurred out on their flyer. Other notable acts that are high up on the lineup include Khruangbin, Ariel Pink, Washed Out, Crumb, Devendra Banhart, and many others. There is definitely something for everyone at this festival. iiiPoints takes place in the legendary art district of Wynwood in Miami.
Festival organizer David Sinopoli knows how to throw one banger of a party and has had major success with past lineups. From The Gorillaz to Kevin Parker DJ sets, psych-rock to indie, electronic to folk, iiiPoints has staked its claim as the best gathering of artists and creatives in South Florida. Personally, I don’t think Ultra Music Festival even holds a candle to iiiPoints due to the variety of acts and the overall vibe that iiiPoints has. Usually, the festival takes place in October but due to the pandemic, it was rescheduled. This year it takes place on April 30th and May 1st in the same location of Mana in Wynwood and has most of Miami in a frenzy as they patiently wait for what will be a monumental return to large gatherings and celebrating music and life.
There is no telling what kind of restrictions will be in place, we have no idea what is happening with the vaccine and if they are going to require attendees to take it or show test results that are negative, but aside from the uncertainty I will say that everyone is very excited to see some of their favorite acts on the big stages once again. iiiPoints is a right of passage for music lovers in Miami and anyone around the nation who wants to see how the south Florida kids get down to business, I highly recommend buying a ticket to this festival and seeing it for your own eyes. The stage construction, the art installations, and the overall interactive landscape that surrounds you at iiiPoints are truly magical and unforgettable.
