UK singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Thomas Eatherton, aka I Am No Longer A Ghost, gets big kudos for trying to attempt to create a song that, in one fell swoop, touches on exploring new beginnings in life using zombie reawakening, witchcraft, and necromancy. That’s heavy and imaginative stuff right there. Also, his upcoming self-titled debut album, which “Burial Gown” is part of, is themed around Halloween.

Though Summer just started, Fall is around the corner. In truth, time does fly by quickly. Plus, the album will be released on October 25th. According to his bio, there is a masked character to represent each character, and that’s pretty wild. The music covers a lot of ground with the amalgamation of post-hardcore, black metal, and emo with plenty of cathartic, gripping vocalizing and blood-curling screams.

However, the track has melodic elements as well. There’s a lot of rocking, fiery guitar work and solid, pounding rhythms on bass and drum parts. Eatherton is a wunderkind and triple threat in his expertise as a journeyman artist. Besides this project, he has played with many other bands as a full-time studio and session musician. “Burial Gown” is far from a lightweight song and derives its strength as a hard-hitting single with a gigantic awe-inspiring intensity etched into its structural musical DNA.
