HONEY I’M HOME MAKES A SONIC IMPACT WITH “STOP SIGN, WISHFUL THINKING, HAPPIER”

The five-piece shoegazer band out of the Netherlands, Honey I’m Gone, a relatively new act on the music scene, grabs one’s attention immediately.

It’s the act’s new single and a half, “Stop Sign, Wishful Thinking, Happier,” created in two parts (like mini songs, separate acts) and goes beyond the three-minute song format. “Happier” is a scant line tagged on the end of the single.

The intriguing track lyrically alludes to violence and danger as a relationship metaphor.

This experimental song has many shifting and dramatic musical dynamics that keep it fascinating and engrossing.

There is an ambitious video to go with the artsy single. The eerie, creepy, atmospheric VHS low-budget movies influence it. Honey, I’m Home’s track ” Stop Sign, Wishful Thinking, Happier” takes an adventurous risk one won’t forget.

The bold single makes a striking, memorable impression and statement for a band just starting.

Even the band’s “ominous” moniker is funny but unsettling in a sick way, given the song's context and video. But it works and sticks.
